OooLaLa came from J & R Farms in Colorado. I am so excited to have these proven Kastdemur's genetics in my herd! Thank you to Jose Gonzalez of J & R Farms for letting this girl come to live in Montana.
OooLaLa was 2x GCH and 1x RGCH as a dry yearling; unfortunately her two GCH wins did not have enough goats to sanction so she did not earn a restricted leg. In 2018, as a 2nd freshening 3yr old, OooLaLa was 2x RGCH at two different shows. She was being dried up and was mostly stale during her 2018 appraisal, but still pulled off a respectable score of VEV+ 87. I can't wait to get her back into the ring in 2019 and appraise her again.
OooLaLa's sire, Kastdemur's Voss, is a promising sire who has produced 8 Superior Genetics does and 2 permanent Champions. Voss' dam, Kasdemur's Evian, is a 2x National Champion and 1x Reserve National Champion doe. She also produced the 2012 National Champion doe and 3 fiished champions. See this link for a more complete list of Evian's accomplishments. Voss' sire is also a very accomplished producer; Landslide has sired 8 finished champions and 8 Superior Genetics.
OooLaLa's dam, J & R Lamancha's Tia was only appraised as a yearling first freshener. She has since been in the show ring and has 2 legs toward her permanent championship with 2x GCH and 1x Best in Show. Tia's littermate sister is SGCH J & R Lamanchas Tamara who was appraised at EEEE 91 at 3yrs old. Tia is sired by Kastdemur's Watch Yourself, another very notable sire who has sired 8 finished champions and 6 Superior Genetics.
2023 Update: As you can see from the Kidding History, below, my luck with Ooolala doe kids has been awful as I ended up losing her 2021 and 2022 doe kids in strange ways (one from ingesting something that caused an obstruction and the other in a freak accident that strangled her). When River was born in 2022, I was elated. She is my absolute favorite goat on the whole place (ok, it might be a tie with her and her mom). She is very much her mother's daughter: she's tall, sharp, angular, and has the sweetest, calming personality. River was only shown once as a baby doe and earned her Jr Leg along with Best Jr Doe in Show. I did not breed her to kid as a yearling, she's so big framed that I wanted to just let her grow. I can't wait to see her fresh in 2024! I also kept one of River's brother as a pack wether; he was the runt of the litter and is still smaller than River, but he has the same personality and has just been a model citizen while learning to be pack goat. Ooolala, for many reasons, will remain in this herd until the day she passes on. I am really hoping to get another couple doe kids from her before she retires. I will likely try to AI her for 2024 and, if she settles and carries kids to term, I would likely keep all kids she gives me, regardless of sex.
